These policies are in effect beginning October 1, 2025. By attending lessons at MLS, you agree to the terms of these policies.

In order for our program to best benefit your student, it is critical we see your student weekly to establish a rhythm of work. We are as flexible as possible in adjusting to client schedules, but only if notice of cancellation is received before 6 PM the day prior to the scheduled session.

Cancel notification received before 6:00 pm the day prior: no charge.
Cancel notification received after 6:00 pm: charge incurred for the lesson.
You may schedule a make-up lesson (at no additional cost) to be completed within 2 weeks. Subject to tutor availability. Make-up lessons cannot be rescheduled or applied to previously scheduled lessons.

In the event of inclement weather, sudden illness and emergencies, this policy may be waived.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

Safety comes first but we often stay open when school is closed so please check our website, www.mlstutors.com, for inclement weather updates. We'll also do our best to notify you by email as soon as we have confirmed our status for that day.

PAYMENT POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Monthly payment by credit card is appreciated. Your card will be charged at the beginning of the month for fees associated with tutoring services rendered the previous month. You will receive a detailed invoice with a $0 balance by email. If you prefer to pay by check you may use our online capability (direct debit from checking or savings, Apple Pay, VENMO, or PayPal) using the link in your invoice to access the online payment portal. Checks should be made out to MLS Educational Consultants and mailed to 6830 Elm St., McLean, VA 22101, ATTN: Loretta.

All charges for tutoring are due and payable on receipt. For any amount unpaid after seven (7) days, a 1.5% monthly service charge, a $10.00 monthly billing fee and a $10.00 monthly late fee will be applied. Should your account be referred for collection, you agree to pay the cost of collection including attorney fees and other costs of litigation.
